Como parte del proyecto Cristo: Rey de las naciones, en ésta ocasión se describe la nación de Burkina Faso.
Es un país ubicado en el continente africano, específicamente en el occidente de África. Limita con Malí, Ghana, Togo y Costa de Marfil. Burkina Faso está divido en dos zonas; una zona desértica que corresponde al desierto del Sahara y una zona verde con bosques y árboles frutales. Burkina Faso no posee acceso al mar. Sin embargo, lo atraviesan 3 ríos. Posee reservas forestales y un Parque Nacional donde habitan leones, elefantes, hipopótamos, monos y antílopes.
RELIGIÓN
Un 60% de la población es musulmana, un 20% católica romana, el 10% protestante, y el otro 10% corresponde a creencias indígenas africanas. Es decir, predomina el islam y solo una minoría pertenece al cristianismo, el cual está mezclado con las tradiciones católico romana e indígenas. Si bien es cierto, actualmente el cristianismo está creciendo en estos lugares, aunque generalmente son iglesias con escaza enseñanza bíblica. Encontramos a la Asociación Misión Cristiana, Sociedades Bíblicas Unidas, SIM (Sociedad Internacional Misionera), las cuales se encargan de ayudar a enviar misioneros al campo por medio de alianzas estrategias con otros equipos misioneros, instituciones o iglesias alrededor del mundo. Ofrecen evangelismo, plantación de iglesias, ayuda médica, formación teológica, traducción de la biblia, etc. También existen muchas iglesias cristianas de corte pentecostal, como las Asambleas de Dios, Misión Canadiense de Pentecostés, la Misión Evangélica de África occidental, entre otras.
