Como parte del proyecto Cristo: Rey de las naciones, en ésta ocasión se describe la nación de Brasil.
Brasil, oficialmente República Federativa de Brasil es un país soberano de América del Sur.
Con una superficie estimada en más de 8,5 millones de km², es el quinto país más grande del mundo después de Rusia, Canadá, china y EE.UU. En área total (equivalente a 47% del territorio sudamericano). Al norte limita con Guayana Francesa, Surinam, Guyana y Venezuela; al noroeste con Colombia; al oeste con Perú y Bolivia; al sureste con Paraguay y Argentina, y al sur con Uruguay. De este modo tiene frontera con todos los países de América del Sur, excepto Ecuador y Chile. Gracias a su vegetación y al clima, es uno de los países con más especies de animales en el mundo.
RELIGIÓN
La constitución establece la libertad de culto y la separación Iglesia-Estado, haciendo de Brasil un Estado oficialmente laico. La legislación prohíbe cualquier tipo de intolerancia religiosa, aunque la Iglesia católica goza de un estatus más privilegiado. Lo anterior puede relacionarse al hecho de que el catolicismo es la fe predominante en el Brasil país, de modo que Brasil posee la mayor población católica del mundo. A finales del Siglo XIX comenzó a ser divulgado el espiritismo en Brasil, y hoy es el país con mayor número de espiritistas en el mundo. En Brasil, dos de las más grandes de estas prácticas se conocen como Umbanda y Candomblé.
MOTIVOS DE ORACIÓN
Orar por las iglesias de sana doctrina en Brasil, para que mantengan una doctrina sana y siempre prediquen el verdadero evangelio.
Orar especialmente por las iglesias reformadas históricas y confesionales en ese país, para que no caigan en el sincretismo que hoy en día se presenta en muchas de ellas.
